Hi my name is Gaby Martinez. I am so so so excited to be a part of PRIDE Academy as your new school counselor! I have worked in education (specifically special education) for 7+ years and have always had a passion for supporting and empowering students. I went to Point Loma Nazarene University for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. An interesting fact about me is that I am deaf in my right ear, so if there is a time where I do not respond I promise I am not ignoring you, I probably just didn't hear you lol. Some of my hobbies include, crocheting, traveling, going to conventions to meet celebrities, and collecting books (with aspirations to read them).
During my first year at PRIDE, my goal is to create a safe space where students can express themselves freely, explore their strengths, and overcome any obstacles they face. I look forward to working collaboratively with teachers and administration to support a positive and inclusive school community.

Hola  PRIDE students and families!  

My name is Ms. Genesis, I am your PRIDE Academy School Social Worker!  I have lived in San Diego my whole life. I grew up here in East County! I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Cal State San Marcos and currently Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Clinical Social Worker. I enjoy hiking, listening to music, and road trips along the coast.  

 

As a school Social Worker, I promote academic success. I offer supportive services, resources, and school-based counseling. My office is a safe space for students to feel heard, respected, and supported.
