In 6th grade, as students become more independent learners, the focus of Project-Based Learning centers around creating projects from which others can learn. Students may use a variety of approaches to meet this objective. Most of the projects at this grade level are based on Ancient History and Science state standards.
Sample topics for Social Studies include: Early Man - Cave Dwellings; AncientMesopotamia; Ancient Egypt; Ancient India; Ancient China; Ancient Greece; and Ancient Rome.
Sample topics for Science include: Earth Science; Minerals and Rocks; Soil Erosion and Deposition; Plate Tectonics; and Volcanoes.
